It looks like Volkswagen has another ID model under development - probably placed under the current ID.4. While until now we have heard nothing about it, today our spy photographers caught a very mysterious Volkswagen Tiguan playing in the snow. While it may look like a regular Tiguan at a first glance, take a second look and you will see this is really not the case.

First of all there is no exhaust end pipes and there is also a yellow sticker on the prototype - clear signs we are looking at an electric vehicle, not an ICE-powered one. Then, it appears that the platform has been extended at the B- and C-pillar - making this prototype longer than your everyday Tiguan.

But the question is: why is Volkswagen using the Tiguan body to test a new electric vehicle? We have to remind you that the ICE-powered model is being built on the now-famous MQB platform, while the electric vehicles have their own dedicated MEB architecture. And there is no way a new electric vehicle will use a different platform - especially since Volkswagen will even share its MEB platform with Ford.

Also, the same MEB platform will be used for other electric cars from Skoda, Seat, and Audi - so, there is a big chance that under this body one of these future models is being hidden.
